Is there an obligation to vote? (For an explanation of this feature, see here.)

Kevin Stroup (mail):
No, there is no obligation to vote. After all, we are free to choose or not choose, are we not? Not voting is actually a form of voting. By not voting, you have, in effect, voted that you do not care who wins. You have still made a choice. Why should the rest of us care about losers who do not want to play the game, but would rather go off and sulk? I say let them, and good riddance.
